Edtech startup Eduka System secured an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Init 6, making it the first portfolio company of the newly established fund. Init 6 is an early-stage startup fund led by founder and former CEO of Bukalapak Achmad Zaky. Cofounder and former CTO of Bukalapak Nugroho Herucahyono also joined in as partner.

Eduka System (PT Eduka Teknologi Indonesia) was founded by a team of four Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) students in November 2018. Currently it offers online tryouts and simulation for computer-based college entrance exam.

It guides students to learn by applying problem-solving practices, instead of memorizing theories. Users can practice problem-solving on multiple subjects and compare with peers on the platform for evaluation. Eduka System currently has more than 800,000 users practicing on its platform, and is accessed by 180,000 students monthly.

To assist schools which are currently running online classes due to the PSBB, Eduka System recently offered its online platform for school exams.

Init 6 was established after Zaky succeeded his position as the CEO of Bukalapak to Rachmat Kaimuddin (which was announced on 9 December 2019 and effective starting 6 January). He remained as the ecommerce’s advisor and tech startup mentor.

He is also building Achmad Zaky Foundation, where he will lead as the chairperson. The Foundation is set to focus on science and tech education, entrepreneurship development, impact investment, and breakthrough research.
