Samsung recently launched its newest foldable device, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2, a much improved foldable phone compared to the first one introduced in 2019. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 pretty much accommodates the improvement wanted from the previous model: bigger cover screen, improved multitasking capability, added versatility, and more durable design.
Who doesn't want a bigger screen? Thus, the new model now comes with a 6.2-inch Cover Screen, a significant upgrade from the previous 4.6-inch. Despite the narrow 25:9 aspect ratio, with it, you can now have a better experience when checking email, looking up directions, or even watching your favorite content without needing to unfold the device every time. The inside squarish Main Screen is also well improved. The new Galaxy Z Fold2 Main Screen is now a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display, bigger from the previous model's 7.3-inch. And this time, Samsung gets it right by ditching the notch. The tablet-sized Main Screen also has a 120Hz adaptable refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gameplay. The device is smart enough to dial the rate down or up based on the screen's content.
Another key feature of the Galaxy Z Fold2 is its improved multitasking. Multi-Active Window allows you to control screen layout with more ease and flexibility. You can open multiple files from the same app simultaneously and view them side by side. With an improved Multi-Window Tray, you can open multiple apps at once. While at it, you can simply drag text, images, and documents from one app to another for instant transfer. Or, quickly screen capture in one app and transfer the captured image into another seamlessly. Galaxy Z Fold2 also offers Samsung DeX wireless connection for clutter-free work productivity.
Last but not least, the Galaxy Z Fold2 is re-engineered with a sleek, unified design that delivers a smooth, high-end feel. Samsung ultra-thin glass is now on the main screen, providing a refined feeling for the display. Its design is anchored by the Hideaway Hinge, which fits seamlessly into the device body with the CAM mechanism –adding more friction and stability when opening it and allows the device to hold itself up at different angles. Galaxy Z Fold2 also employs sweeper technology within the gap between the body and hinge housing to repel dust and undesirable particles. The space for the sweeper structure is even smaller than on the Galaxy Z Flip. To achieve this, Samsung developed new innovative sweeper technology to achieve the same protection level in a smaller space.
The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 measures at 68 x 159.2 x 16.8mm (when closed), 128.2 x 159.2 x 6.9mm (when opened), and weigh 282 grams. The Galaxy Z Fold2 features a 12MP primary Wide-Angle camera, a 12MP Ultra Wide Angle camera with a 123-degree field of view, and a 12MP Telephoto Camera. It is powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 865 Plus and a whopping 12GB of RAM, which is more than enough to run multiple apps at once without any of them closing. There are two options for storage: 256GB and 512GB.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 are available in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze, with pre-order period from September 11 to 19, on www.galaxylaunchpack.com.During the pre-order period, customers will also get Galaxy Buds Live in the same color as the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Premier Service supported by Samsung Care + for 1 year to protect the device from accidental damage or exposure to liquid.
